Although library staff can not undertake genealogical research, the library owns many resources genealogy researchers may find helpful.

Pawtucket Times Obituaries

Library staff can provide copies of up to three (3) obituaries per month for researchers. Obituary requests must include the exact date of death.

By Mail:
For printed copies of obituaries from the Pawtucket Times, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope along with a small donation to cover printing costs to:

  • Pawtucket Times 1886-1889 and 1921-1922
    This Pawtucket Library digital collection includes the Pawtucket Times from 1886-1889 and 1921-1922. The goal of this project is to digitize the Library’s microfilm collection of Pawtucket newspapers. Additional years will be added as funding, grants and donations allow. Please note that search results may appear to contain misspellings and jumbled words due to the age of some of the editions. This does not affect the quality of the search results or the image of the actual newspaper article.
